Now that spring has sprung and summer is in full effect, we are totally loving the seasonal blooms and outdoor garden parties our clients have in mind! In Bakersfield, nothing beats beautiful morning breakfast Baby Showers in the cooler crisp air or summer night gatherings under the stars surrounded by friends and family. Throughout the seasons, it's important to utilize sweet, charming little details in your garden or outdoor space to create the festive mood. Setting tables with fresh blooms in pretty vintage arrangements are essential! Place settings can add a formal or casual touch and offer a hint of color - the finishing touch to an already exquisitely set table! Whether you're going for laid-black elegance in your backyard setting or rustic charm outdoors, details are essential. Little things can make big things happen!
A little blog about our clients, our work, events, and what we love to do!
"Oh, they say when you marry in June....you're a bride all your life!" The saying may be romantic but in central California wedding season gets busy in September. The weather is cooling off and the wedding industry is getting busy with the sound of wedding bells ringing in the air!
Here at Flourishing Art we get excited once the end of Summer hits and our Fall weddings begin. As sad as we are to see the stunning open Peonies leave, the new flowers that come into the shop are beautiful and always put us in the mood for fall crisp weather. Flowers in beautiful orange hues such as, the Dinner Plate Dahlias or the Ecuadorian-imported Circus Rose.
Beautiful color schemes, that we haven't seen in a few months, such as, burnt orange, reds, yellows and chocolate are popular among our fall brides. But not to worry, a bride may have the same color scheme as another but each wedding that we produce is as unique and as special as the bride it belongs to.
All of our brides and grooms are so very special and Monika and Brian are no exception. Monika came to us with a few ideas, some “must haves” and then she was certainly open to some new ideas. Our wedding consultations include everything from some fabric swatches and flower suggestions and Monika came prepared with one suggestion in mind. Peacocks! It is so wonderful to dream along with a couple like Brian and Monika. Their peacock theme was woven into almost every element with dendrobium orchids and little green kermits and of course some peacock feathers as accent pieces.
Monika and Brian are very active in their church and were so blessed to have friends and family to help decorate and participate in making their day as perfect as can be. Flourishing Art teams are able to work with church groups, family and friends in whatever capacity we are needed. The tables were aglow with mason jars, milk bottles, bow-tied napkins and candlelight. Everyone said the St. Francis hall never looked so good.
We were so happy to be a part of creating some special memories for our bride. She wanted a picture of her grandfather who had passed away several years earlier, so we wove a picture onto her bouquet and her grandpa was there in spirit to help her walk down the aisle.
These are but a few things that Flourishing Art takes pride in accomplishing for every special event, for it is in the details and the love that we put into our work... that you will appreciate when your day arrives. ♥
Without a doubt, one of our favorite things is seeing smiles and summertime! Earlier this month, we coordinated and designed a Beach Party Picnic for one of our favorite clients at Stramler Park. There was a ton of fun stuff for the whole family to do together and a beautiful bounty of food provided by Hodel's Country Dining & Catering which including summer time favorites like fish n' chips, watermelon, strawberries, and pineapple chicken!
One of our favorite things was the surf machine, which provided hours of entertainment for those brave enough to ride it... AND those who just wanted to watch. We had an array of games and activities like bingo, face painting, sand capsules, sumo wrestling, a beach boys cover band, hula dancing, and so much more.
This is going to be a fun summer, we can tell already!
