With more intimate celebrations currently on-trend, we thought it was the perfect time for us to look back on Leslie and Brett’s stunning wedding. This lovely couple decided to tie the knot in an elopement ceremony with a few of their closest friends and family. Then, a few months later, we had the pleasure of being a part of their celebratory reception.

Fatemeh and Farhad’s Birthday Evening

May 26, 2020

This stunning husband and wife duo were both celebrating milestone birthdays, and they wanted to celebrate in style! We loved designing this gold and white evening with touches of black. To spruce up the space, we wanted to give guests multiple areas in the ballroom to grab a cocktail. We utilized a stunning half-moon bar featuring the couple’s initials and a geometric gold bar with a candle wall that created a beautiful focal point. Fatemeh and Farhad enjoyed the evening mingling with guests and dancing the night away.

2020 International Wedding Trend Report

February 5, 2020

We couldn’t be more thrilled to announce that we’ve been featured in this year’s International Wedding Trend Report! Each year, The Wedding Academy compiles a beautifully designed report of global trends from industry experts all around the world. Flourishing Art has been named as a contributor in the floral category, and we wanted to share some of our included picks below.

Go Bold or Go Home

Couples are returning to the ‘wow’ factor this year by including a wealth of vibrant shades into their wedding blooms. We’re seeing a lot of bright green, oranges, bold reds, rich blues and purples.

As of late, we’ve been working with a lot of wine and burgundy hues, but we’re excited to see classic red making a comeback. The combination of these colors together makes for a marbled, exquisite pairing that piles on the drama.

Elegant Textures

Following the dramatic route, we’ll expect to see more utilization of modern metals in couples’ floral designs, whether they be glittering accents or muted matte elements. The bigger, the better here – there’s no longer too much texture to be had! Dried and preserved florals incorporated with fresh blossoms is also the new trending juxtaposition that’s all the rage for 2020.

Cascading Bouquets

Long, daring bridal bouquets are here! Cascades and cressets are emerging, although the free-form style has been in for quite a few years. With this, we’ll see more draping greenery and accent flowers that will elevate what will be showcased during the ceremony.

Flourishing Art in the News: November Press Roundup!

November 19, 2019

We can’t think of many things that we love more than sharing our recent designs, expert wedding tips, and real wedding inspiration with you! Today, we’re launching our monthly press roundup blog to highlight Flourishing Art in the news. And, we promise that you’re going to love everything in this article! Thank you to our friends at Rustic Bride, Martha Stewart Weddings, YourTango, and WeddingWire for the features!

Rustic Bride

Having dated since college, we knew we wanted to make Tawni and Jake’s wedding day as special as their love story. Our team had the pleasure of designing many aspects of the decor, curating all the floral arrangements, and planning each detail without a hitch! We loved the whimsical, ombre floral designs that featured different blooms in shades varying from lavender to eggplant. View their beautiful day by visiting Rustic Bride’s website here

Martha Stewart Weddings

When it comes to deciding the flowers for your bouquets in high-traffic areas, choosing less delicate blooms is the best way to help them stand up to a lot of handling. But how do you know which flowers to avoid?

We are thrilled to share that Oleta has recently been featured as one of the guest experts on Martha Stewart Weddings, sharing which flowers are best for bouquets. To view which flowers Oleta recommends, access the full article here.

YourTango

If you’re getting ready to plan your wedding reception or if you are in the middle of planning it, we invite you to read our advice on YourTango, highlighting six (critical!) things you need to know during this stage of wedding planning. A wedding reception has so many aspects, but have no fear, as Oleta shared her insight on the timing of your dinner service.

WeddingWire

One big fear couples have leading up to their wedding is feeling run down or even getting sick. WeddingWire is diving into what to do if this happens to you, and Oleta is giving her expert advice on how you can combat stress when it comes down the wire. Gilded Ballroom Retirement Fête

October 22, 2019

After 25 years of service, a retirement celebration for Bahram Ghaffari, the President of the Delano Regional Medical Center, is just what the doctor ordered!

Our goal was to design and choreograph an awe-filled event that epitomized opulent glamour with its décor, entertainment, white-glove service, and many other special touches.

When guests arrived at the Bakersfield Marriott, they were greeted by a parade of servers offering trays of wine while enjoying the tunes of an eccentric piano musician.

Once cocktail hour concluded, greeters simultaneously opened the ballroom doors to reveal the swanky, candlelit room. While the guests located their tables, under black crystal chandeliers while walking through the low-lying fog that swept across the room. Everyone’s attention then fell to the seamless black gloss dance floor, where two tango dancers floated across for the next round of entertainment.

The dining tables featured an abundance of gold accents, candlesticks, candles votives, and towering white floral candelabra centerpieces. Guests sat down to enjoy a delectable dinner that ended with  “a flamed” baked Alaska presentation.

The evening was filled with heartfelt speeches from close friends and colleagues while a world-class Salsa band rounded out the evening’s entertainment. As expected, the evening ended with guests dancing the night away.

A big thank you to our amazing creative partners and their staff who helped make it a real success!

Italian Villa Wedding: Trisha and Ed

October 8, 2019

If you’re on the hunt for the perfect luxury California coast wedding that makes you feel as though you’ve been transported to a Tuscan villa, then this wedding is for you!

Trisha and Ed met at the beach, which is just one of the reasons they adored the idea of having their reception at Villa Sevillano. From the charm and exclusivity of the location to the ocean view – what’s not to love?

Trish carried a timeless white bouquet to match the beautiful, lush arrangements that filled every blank space. Guests were welcomed to cocktail hour with relaxing lounge seating and a Gatsby-style bar with multiple chandeliers set above. Once the black satin curtains were raised to the reception, the guests were welcomed into a modernized tent that looked like an open-air ballroom with the use of black draping.

We chose a golden-hued table setting, and a sea of crisp white roses and hydrangeas to don the tables. One of our favorite elements of our design was the modern Moscow-inspired lighting. These details truly made the entire event have the perfect balance of modern with art deco details.

We can’t wait for you to enjoy a few of our favorite images documented by In Motion Pro

Congratulations to Trisha and Ed, and thank you to our talented creative partners who helped make their day flawless!
